Articles News General Roborugby

Probably Ireland's premier robot event, well really Ireland's only robot event Roborugby is to be held on Monday 20th of April 2009 in the Clinton Auditorium in UCD. Starts at 7pm and everyone is welcome. Twenty-one unique autonomous robots, designed by first year engineering students from UCD, will compete against each other in a series of short matches, to determine the winner of RoboRugby. In each match, two robots will compete against each other on the RoboRugby table.  The objective for each robot is to move as many balls as possible into the scoring area at the end of the table opposite its starting position, in the time allowed. No intentional ramming of other robots to cause damage is allowed, but being rugby friendly "nudging" to impede opponents is encouraged :) As well as the firing of projectiles! which isn't in its human cousin's code of conduct
